    23 March 2020

    Great news!

Baringa is allowed to stay open and provide support in whatever way is best for your family. As of today, 23 March, the ACT Government has advised there is no need for early childhood services to close.

If you have a Hibiscus child who requires additional days due to their government preschool going pupil-free, please email us at [email protected] with your required days. We have reserved spots should require them from Tuesday 24 March. We have also been advised there is no need for any change to vacation care services at this stage.

    Support Measures

The Australian Government announced a series of measures to support families who:

    • Require continued childcare services and need assistance to cover costs; and
    • May choose to temporarily keep their children at home while keeping their childcare places.

As such, we will be sending out more information about applying for Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) Temporary Hardship which covers up to 100% of childcare fees. Legislation is also being introduced where the Child Care Subsidy will continue to be paid to early learning centres like Baringa, in the event of a temporary closure due to COVID-19.

Baringa welcomes these measures and will assist us in continuing to serve our community, supports our financial viability and continues employment for our hardworking, dedicated educators and staff.

There are further financial support you may also be eligible for as individuals. We are going through the information and are here to help you navigate through the process. Stay tuned.

    We Are Here For You

We understand how uncertain things may feel for everyone across the community at this time. Baringa will do everything we can to look after our families and staff.
